We land in Ercan in Cyprus, our friendly and competent guide welcomes you to the airport and brings us to our modern bus. From the airport we drive to our comfortable hotel in the Kyrenia area. Here we spend the first 4 nights here, we will welcome you with a refreshing drink.
DAY 2: CYRENIA
After a relaxing breakfast, we drive down to the old harbor of Kyrenia, where the boats lie and cradle on the turquoise blue waves. We walk along the harbor promenade to the fortress, the city's landmarks, the walls are impressive 21 meters high right in front of us. Nearby there is an old shipwreck from the year 300 BC, which became the mountain in 1969. At the museum you can see very well-preserved original parts from the shipwreck. The trip goes on to a jewelry and leather factory, where we get an insight into the island's distinguished crafts traditions. DAY 3: THE EXPERIENCE, THE ANTIQUE CITY SOLI & MAMAS CHURCH **
We drive to west along the coast past idyllic villages and enchanting landscapes. The first stop of the trip is the Gecitköy dam, where the tour leader will tell about the scarce water resources of northern Cyprus. We continue the trip and then stop by a fragrant orange plantation. Finally, it is on the excavations of the ancient city of Soli, where we Must see the basilica and the theater and other excavations. DAY 4: NICOSIA - AND MAIN CITY BETWEEN TWO WORLDS **
Welcome to the maze of small cozy streets in Nicosia - the last part of the capital. First of all, we visit the northern part of the city. on the Ottoman caravanserai and the splendid farm and nest a little oriental flair. The old Selimiye Mosque is the city's largest building and a Gothic masterpiece from the 1300s. We continue the walk on foot across the "border", the so-called "green line", to the southern part of town. Here it will be a good time to experience the city on its own. Enter the rich street life and experience the culture at close range or take a walk along the Venetian wall.
DAY 5: FAMAGUSTA, ANTIQUE CITY SALAMIS, SKT. BARNABAS KLOSTER
Many new highlights await us today. First, the fascinating antique city of Salamis, where the Romans lived in their time. We pass past the history of the ruins of the old pillar of the upper secondary school, forums and terms. We continue the trip to St. Petersburg. Barnabas Monastery - named after the Cypriot Apostle, martyr and the weekend Barnabas. The next highlight of today's excursion will be the magnificent Skt. Nikolaus Cathedral, today called the Lala Mustafa Pascha Mosque. Finally, we experience the fascinating, hundred-year-old artwork to make carpets in a traditional knot ride. You will be excited when you see the handcrafted carpet's diversity, patterns and color splendor. We spend the next 3 nights in the relaxing Kyrenia area.
DAY 7: BELLAPAIS CLOSTER & MINIATURE PARK **
We drive through the stunning Pentadaktylos mountain range 700 meters up to Bellapais. The highlight of the idyllic mountain village is the monastery of Bellapais, an impressive Gothic building, built with the help of the Crusaders. In the 13th century, many Christians went on pilgrimage to this monastery, which was reportedly storing a fragment of the Holy Cross. We enjoy a stunning panoramic view of the harbor town of Kyrenia, from here we go to the miniature park, where you can experience the 15 most important sights on the island in miniformat.
DAY 7: OPTIONAL DAY
Today you can enjoy the whole day at the hotel or ask your tour guide if there are several optional excursions in the area
